I wish I could cook something... the north wind is pretty wicked today. I tried trimming a tree today & decided my time was better spent doing nothing.

Got a call into the well folks, we got power but no water. GRRRR!!! They changed out the control box & also the check valve (which doesn't effect my problem, but was bad).

Cleaned the garage as winter is coming. Not what I had planned for today, but it was on my to-do list...

Fed the cattle.

Cleaned the last 4 hummingbird feeders & put them in storage.

Burned the cardboard boxes that have accumulated.

Refilled the chlorine reservoir in the septic system.

Covered the 3 newest additions to our library with Mylar.

Cleaned & painted the box/post that holds the gate's keypad.

Continued chasing the gophers in the yard.

Made ranch rice to go with the enchiladas that Mrs. Ranch is making for supper.

Finally received the parts need to repair my hand sprayer. Ops check good after installation. I like these S.S nozzles!!!

Did the weekly shopping & topped off the fuel in Mrs. Ranch's Jeep.

Fed the cattle.

Sprayed the fire ant mounds in the yard & the harvester ants in the pastures... their bodies are stacking up.

Went to town to buy butter. The Lowe's had it in their ad '2 fer $5', which is an excellent price nowadays, so I bought 14 lbs & put them in the freezer.

It has started raining (0.20" thus far).

I have been a little under the weather the last couple of days, may be covid. My Dr keeps us supplied with the good drugs to fight it with. Hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin and doxycycl hyc. Seemed to have knocked it pretty quick.......He resupplies it when ever we use it or share it with family.....

Fed the cattle ahead of the rain.

Removed the mowing deck from the garden tractor. I scraped/wire wheeled it before spraying it with No-Mow' to help keep the grass from sticking. I also installed the new G5 carbide blades. Tomorrow I'll flip it back over to clean/wax the top side.

Raining now (0.39" thus far).👍👍👍

I woke up earlier than normal, so I started detailing the body of the garden tractor. I figured I could do that quietly to avoid waking Mrs. Ranch & Dieter up.

Started raining about daybreak (0.47" thus far).

Picked up another load of cattle feed.

Cleaned & waxed the upper side of the mower deck, then greased the spindles. Still working on the body of the garden tractor itself.

Fed the cattle.

Started a loaf of sourdough bread for tomorrow.

Finished the loaf of sourdough bread.

Finished detailing the garden tractor, changed the oil/filter & then reinstalled the mowing deck. Ops check was good, so this project is done.

Cold front blew through about 1400 hrs... went from 86 to 55 in an hour.

More of the same weather... 45 degrees, 9 mph wind & 0.04" of the wet stuff.

Start the 'beginning-of-the-month' chores.

Fed the cattle.

Pulled up the caladiums in the back porch pots in the hope of using them again next spring, but the bulbs were already getting mushy, so I tossed them. At least the pots are clean.

Fed the cattle & put out hay.

Finished cutting back all the ferns in the hanging baskets in preparation for their move into the greenhouse, then watered them.
