Everything here has either been on the verge of bursting into flame or underwater.. Frustrating..
I figure in a week or so I'll start prepping beds for the fall garden. My local nursery has already started getting some fall veggie plants.. has me just about inspired enough to do something in spite of the weather. Aside from that.. I bought a share in a fishing cabin out in the marsh in West Galveston Bay and I've been doing a quite a bit of sitting on the porch out there and looking at things through the bottom of a pricey bottle of rum and picking the guitar013.JPG ..

Forecasted high of about 75° today.

Got between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain overnight. Good as we got no rain for most of July and August. Bad as I wanted to finish my patio today and the cover was off the turtle sandbox. Now we have a turtle beach wading pool.

Cleaned & refilled the redneck swimming pool.

Sprayed RoundUp (liquid edging) around the house & yard.

What rum would that be? I just finished my Mt Gay Eclipse and need to replace it.
Mount Gay 1703 old cask... and my new favorite,, Pyrat cask 1623.. hints of citrus,, mmm this one is over 200 bucks though.. gotta savor it. There are less expensive varieties that I'll delve into after this bottle.

@Mike The new forum skin looks good
Thanks for noticing. I'm hoping it's not a huge difference from what was in place before for everyone else. Unfortunately the old style wasn't that compatible with the new forum upgrade we did a day or two ago.

Spent the day digging up the area where I had an irrigation pipe break due to ground shrinkage. I hope to finish the repair on Wednesday.... The ground is like concrete & my back is killing me. Yes Ernie, I was using a railroad pick & a shovel.

We need rain bad....

Sam,
Okay, you know now what i meant when i said those picks were made for men under 5"8", and 5' 6" might even be better. . That is the only piece of consturction equipment that i did not enjoy operating. .

There are lots of advantages to being short, but fitting a RR Pick may not be one of the best ones.

It may have been just a coiincidence, but there were very few obese men back when the digging was done with RR picks and shovels.

We have amazon prime and use the streaming music often. I am convinced the more you press the "thumbs down" the more of that band they play. It is all a ploy for you to buy the wireless voice activated speaker / snooper.

Finished my patio. I don't know whether to say it took me three weeks or seven years to finish the project. I think it was Labor 7 years ago that I started the patio.

Chopped pork ribs + chopped brisket with homemade BBQ sauce mixed in a bowl and served on a bun. Lol, I was in BBQ boredom and thunk this gem of an idea up while planting potatoes. It actually turned out pretty good. image.jpg image.jpg

Cut the grass and the peppers and flowers.

This weekend starts the NFL season (well Thursday technically) but I'll be making stuff peppers Sunday using the giant jalapeno I've been growing!
