Took Dieter to the vet for his shot.

Picked up molasses tubs & hit the package store.

Watered the garden, asparagus, Crape Myrtles, porch pots & hanging baskets.

Rebait & set the coon trap by the bird feeding station. Also moved their water trough as I think the coon is launching itself off of it. I'll see...

Had a brief passing shower this afternoon, just enough to increase the humidity.

Went to LaGrange to get my haircut, drop off the returns at the UPS store & do the weekly shopping.

Put the molasses tubs out.

Shred along our roads.

Grandson came to feed the cattle for me.

Made 2 loaves of Italian bread.

Cleaned & refilled the hummingbird feeders. We don't have any at all but the woodpecker was squawking about them being empty, LOL!!!

R&R the GPU card in Mrs. Ranch's computer.

Cleaned the weather station (rain gauge was starting to act up). Shortly afterwards, we received 0.36" of rain. We are back in business!!!

Harvested a tub of tomatoes.

Had the septic tanks cleaned out.

Fed the cattle.

Rebaited the coon trap.

Removed the bird feeders so I can finish painting the feeder station. I also applied a coat of Lexel where the hangers meet the feeder bodies as the coon if flipping them over.

Harvested another bucket of tomatoes. I have to start processing/canning them tomorrow...

Got another coon. They are still ahead 5-2, but I will prevail in the end. Grandson brought his trap down to help too.

Picked up another load of cattle feed.

Prepped & canned whole tomatoes. We got 12 quarts.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets.

Made tomato sauce. I'll can it tomorrow.

Grandson came down to feed the cattle for me before going fishing.

Then we sat on the back porch enjoying some quiet time, just watching the mockingbird babies learning to fly & hunt.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets.

Worked on coon-proofing the redbird feeders. Once that was done, I refilled the feeders & baited the coon trap. It's a big one as he can jump pretty high to get over the barrier...

H&H garage door company out of LaGrange came to replace a broke spring pair. They need to special order them, but was they were able to do a temporary repair so we can use the door in the meantime. Slicker than snot!!!

Watered the garden, asparagus, Crape Myrtles, porch pots & hanging baskets.

Did the weekly shopping & then went to the feed store for a sack of sunflower seeds & a galvonized trash can.

No coon in the trap, although it did eat all the bait...

Started the 'beginning-of-the-month' chores.

Rebaited both coon traps & rehung the front feeder & seed block.

We got one coon last night, but it wasn't the big one. After disposing of the body, I rebaited both traps.

Made 2 lbs of pinto beans with 2 rings of sliced sausage for our daughter's family. Also made them a double batch of mexican cornbread to go with the beans.

Sporadic rain again today (0.56" thus far).

We got another coon (#4) last night, but it still wasn't the big one. After disposing of the body, I rebaited both traps again.

H&H Garage Door came out to replace the springs. They did an outstanding job & the bill was very reasonable too!!!

We got another coon (#5) last night, still wasn't the big one but I'll take it. After disposing of the body, I rebaited both traps again.

It started raining about 1200 hrs (3.28" thus far).

Made a template for 2 double gunracks for the Defenders. I then painted the fasteners/washers that I'm going to use. I'm workstop awaiting the cutting of the steel plates.

No coons last night.

Sprayed the dallis grass on the home site. Given the government's poor weather forcasting ability, I looked at the sky & decide I was going to go for it...

Daughter brought me the 2 steel plates for the double gun racks. Perfect timing!!!

No coons last night.

Did the weekly shopping.

Sanded the steel plates & applied acid to them. After they were dry, I used my template to drill the holes & painted them satin black. I'll assemble them in a couple of days.

Grandson came to feed the cattle for me & to tell me that he got a big hog last night (he's was having a dry spell).

We had a couple of hard rain showers this afternoon (0.28"). Not bad for 0% chance... The NWS needs to disbanded.

We got another 0.34" of rain this afternoon.

Watered the porch pots, the hanging baskets are good.

No coons again this morning, although we did have another unwanted visitor (quickly dispatched) at 0500 hrs, I almost didn't see it... Copperheads are almost invisible in the pea gravel.

Harvested jalapenos & bell peppers to finish the Picante Sauce. Mrs. Ranch & I then started slicing & dicing them.

Started assembling the gun racks for the Defenders & installed one of them on ours. I think I going to add some shims to the base plate to prevent bowing. What's nice about this setup is that if you're not using it, you can put the seat down & you can hardly see them.

Thanks!!!

People actually sell these kind of racks, ranging from $119 to $179 & they all use the same exact Kolpin grips. I paid $112 (tax inc.) for 2 pair of grips from Amazon & the bases were scrap 1/8" plate. A little sanding & drilling, throw in the cost of the paint & I built 2 of them for less than $60 each. My time is cheap nowadays, LOL!!!

Finished the Picante Sauce & canned it. We got 6 quarts out of that batch.

Made 2 loaves of Italian bread. Also made the Italian oil per request.

Installed a picatinny rail mount on my oldest Ruger .22 so I can swap between my regular scope & the thermal scope. The original weaver rail was challenging to remove after 38 yrs as expected. I need to get different scope rings for the old scope but I knew that going in...

Added shims to the Defender's gun rack. Now it's perfect. I'll install the other one on the grandson's Defender tomorrow.

Grandson & his probable future BIL nailed another big one last night. They both shot it to make sure it went down, LOL!!! Look at the size of the head... it would make a hell of a skull mount!!!
