Refilled the front yard bird feeder after it's recent paint job. Also put up a new seed block for them.

Started spraying the Dallis grass in the yard.

Put on a Jalapeno Brisket and a pot of beans for dinner. Thawing out some chuckar and pheasant from a trip back in Feb to make some jalapeno poppers.. I'll then vac seal and freeze those for later. Gotta hang plants today for the wife and help fill bird feeders. Also have a dying maple tree that I need to make a decision on.. half dead, half not. I'm thinking I'm gonna take it down. Worked the bees yesterday.. I'm thinking I'll have somewhere around 150lbs of honey this spring if nothing crazy happens... maybe more but I'll leave some for the summer dearth.

Took Dieter to his original vet because he's not improving. After much manipulation, Dieter has the equivalent of a torn ACL in a human. Surgery is 10K, plus rehab in Sugarland. We are bummed about this.

Harvested a couple of tomatoes & japs so Mrs. Ranch can make Pico de Gallo to go along with the enchiladas for supper.

Made another gingerbread cake for dessert, these are addictive!

Made ranch rice.

Watered the garden, asparagus, porch pots, hanging baskets & the Crape Myrtles.

Harvested some cilantro & 7 more jalapenos as I'm making a pot of pinto beans.

Took down 3 bird feeders to clean/prep them prior to painting.

Vacuum packed the stuff we made yesterday & put it in the freezer.

Made a butter cake with chocolate frosting for our desserts.

I'm glad I didn't fire up the smoker today, the heat/humidity is close to being unbearable (look at the blue highlighted area in the attached screenshot).

View attachment 4694As the crow flies I’m probably 4 miles to your east. I worked in the garden after daylight and mowed for several hours. The combination of dust, heat and humidity again kicked my butt.Any day now to start picking corn.

Dieter woke me up at 0200 hrs due to the thunder & lightning. It was pouring rain (0.67").

Cleaned the chairs & cushions on the back porch.

Brought up more potatoes & cleaned them for Mrs. Ranch.
